“Black Snake In Hellebores” art print reproduction of my original painting. I’m finally happy with how the colors have turned out!
It has taken some time and effort to get to this point. Though I’ve had some success with having other art prints created through vendors, this is the one that has led me to finally printing on my own. I got a nice scanner and printer and have been able to tweak the results in real time to get optimal results with color and detail.

This painting is titled “Cold Bouquet”; 24×24” acrylic on canvas. The subject for this painting was a bouquet that I was surprised with over this past winter. I’d decided to paint it when it had started to wither. I included falling petals to capture its decline, in the spirit of memento mori, to “remember death”—in order to remember and appreciate the preciousness of life.

This collection of paintings includes a number of pieces that reference classical sculpture and are inspired by the concept of identity as it relates to the relationship between body and mind. A couple of pieces also feature birds, another favorite subject of mine.

One art show wraps up as a new one begins!

I’m honored to share that I had two paintings accepted in the Dark Art All Media Show at Art Works Gallery in Richmond, Virginia. My paintings in the show include: “The Clowder Witch” painting which won first prize, and “The Veil Between” which sold and will soon be heading to a great new home.
Opening night was on the Friday before Halloween, and it was a perfect theme for the season. The show was jurored by Chris Semtner, artist, author, and curator of the Poe Museum. He also exhibited his own work in his Phantasmagoria show which opened on the same night.
I’m so happy to have been a part of this show, with other artists exhibiting their own dark art. Many thanks to everyone who made it possible and who came out to enjoy it!
Exhibit runs through November 18th.
