From Alpine folklore, the legend of Krampus tells of a horned figure compelled to scare naughty children who misbehave. In this drawing, Krampus is depicted as a Nature Spirit, comprised of Winter-bare branches and of holly sprigs from the deep forest, fortified by the spirited firelight within which animates its being.
